Ashbourne War Memorial

A remarkable transformation at the Ashbourne War Memorial. The Grade II-listed memorial arch, built from Derbyshire gritstone, had accumulated years of dirt, grime and atmospheric soiling, obscuring much of the natural character and detail of the stone. Historic England

Using the DOFF steam cleaning system, we carefully removed the build-up of surface contamination and revealed the stonework beneath. The difference was huge, and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

Throughout the project, local residents were genuinely astonished by the results, with many stopping to look, take photographs and comment on just how different the memorial looked.

It was a privilege to help restore the appearance of such an important local landmark and bring its original character back into view.
